  1.    Clinical Appeals, RN
A registered nurse is responsible for attending appeals hearing on a case-by-case basis and determining if the UnitedHealth members are medically appropriate. You will need to be a detail-oriented person that also enjoys research because you will be responsible for performing authorization reviews according to state-specific recognized clinical guidelines.
You will need to have knowledge about the computer because you will be navigating relevant internal and external computer systems on a daily basis. Also, you must be an active registered nurse with at least five years of experience in clinical nursing preferably Utilization Management and Medicaid experience.
  1.    Manager, Clinical Appeals
The manager has to work closely with two supervisors to plan, organize, and evaluate the day-to-day operation of the staff, who are responsible for processing all third-party insurance appeals and denials.
You must be a people person and must have an analytical mind because as a manager, you act as a liaison to third party reviewers and payers and also implement strategic changes based on your patterns and trends analysis.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree, RN license plus five years of leadership experience in a hospital, health plan, or revenue cycle company. You must also have knowledge of the appeals and denial process, and also be skilled in Excel and PowerPoint.
  1.    Provider Relations Advocate
The holder of this position is the primary contact point to all UnitedHealth providers and as such, plays an important role in creating and maintaining trust between providers and their patients.
You will also design and implement strategies to build positive relationships between the health plan, physicians, and practice managers; therefore you will need to have an engaging personality. You will also direct and implement strategies regarding the development and management of a provider network.
This position requires an undergraduate degree or its equivalent, two years of experience working with physicians, health systems, or hospitals plus two years of experience with claims and issue resolution and creating and delivering presentations.

This begins with the application process, which is done on the UnitedHealth Group website at www.careers.unitedhealthgroup.com. You can search by entering a keyword, job title, or job number or you can select the telecommute positions on the left side of the page. Also, you can search by location, job level, job field, business unit, posting date, schedule (full-time or part-time), shift, and travel.
When you find your job position of interest, you can then begin to fill out your application form which will take at least 30-45 minutes. You will be required to upload your CV, answer pre-employment questions and possibly take an assessment test.
Finally, once you are done with filling out your application, you then submit for formal assessment. If you are qualified, you will be contacted for an interview which may be on phone or in person. If you succeed in the interview process, you will be offered the job which you will then accept to begin working with the company.
